The winning image: 'Water Droplets on Superhydrophobic Surface'

The SEMS Research Group held a photo competition, which attracted a range of entries from staff and PhD students. The winner was final-year PhD student Samuel Jellard, with his impressive image entitled “Water Droplets on Superhydrophobic Surface”. This relates to his research into water droplet impact energy harvesting, which commenced under the A*STAR (Agency for Science, Technology and Research, Singapore) Research Attachment Programme, and completed at Southampton.
